WIAT Challenge Fund Car Park

The Woodlands In and Around Towns (WIAT) programme provides the focus for Scottish Forestry's work on improving quality of life in towns and cities. This dataset related to the second phase of the WIAT programme which started in April 2008 and finished in 2013.


This dataset contains the Car Parks of approved WIAT applications. Additionally there are datasets which show the location of the boundary and footpaths of WIAT applications.

Statement

This dataset originated from the the GLOS Live database. Data was captured as part of the overall GLOS workflow. Car parks were manually captured from scanned application maps with additional interpretation and snapping to Ordnance Survey MasterMap, Scottish Government Field Boundaries, aerial photography and other relevant datasets (e.g. existing forestry grant schemes). This version of the dataset was extracted from the GLOS Live database and is now archived.


Additional information on WIAT can be found in the overall WIAT boundary (S_WIAT) dataset metadata which gives details on eligibility criteria and further details on the overall programme.
