John Muir Way
The John Muir Way (JMW) is a long distance coast to coast route launched in April 2014. It is a Central Scotland Green Network project developed by NatureScot in partnership with Local Authorities, landowners and other agencies such as Forestry Commission Scotland, Sportscotland, Sustrans, Scottish Canals and Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park.
The JMW is 134 miles long and runs from Helensburgh in the west to Dunbar in the east. It is accessible to both walkers and cyclists with some sections also being suitable for horse riding. The John Muir Way has a dedicated website at https://www.johnmuirway.org.
NatureScot wishes to make accurate route information and data as accessible as possible to ensure that partners are using the most up to date information.
